STEM: Engineers Week 2021

Taking place from 27 February – 5 March, STEPS Engineers Week encourages young people, their teachers and parents to explore the creative and limitless world of engineering. The pupils of Banogue NS took part in Engineers Week this year and engaged in a number of hands on activities which combined different curricular areas including science, engineering, maths, art and design.

As part of Engineers week, the Infant class took part in a Tower building activity with Ms. Mannix. They also constructed and created Box Monsters. This provided opportunity to revise shape and space in Maths, as the children had to make a cuboid as part of this activity.

The middle room explored the force of gravity and air resistance with Ms. O' Brien during Engineers Week when they made and designed parachutes.
