Tree Day

The first of October was National Tree Day. We joined the Tree Council of Ireland and planted a tree together in the school. The tree was sent to us via the post and we were very excited. It is called a Scots Pine Tree. Did you know that Ireland was once called Scottia? This native tree of Ireland gets its name from this old name. The tree has needles and not leaves and we all agreed it looks like a Christmas tree. Let's hope we keep it alive and well!
