Trip to Lough Gur with Geoff Hunt

On Friday, the school went on a trip with Geoff Hunt. We went pond dipping to Lough Gur. We saw a variety of minibeasts including water beetle, water scorpion, hoglouse, water spider and a ramshorn snail. The Senior Classes found a rare newt! We also saw ducks and swans. The Senior classes took part in a environmental clean up.

After the trip, Geoff Hunt returned to the school with us and consolidated what we had learnt. The children got to view the minibeasts using a microscope. It was a great trip!
